WSIB / Government of Ontario
Small Business Web Application UI & UX design
Project Overview
During the second wave of Covid-19 in the summer of 2021, the Government of Ontario was working on legislation to obtain a financial relief package that would help Ontario businesses affected by the loss of its workforce due to employee sick days taken because of Covid. The provincial government needed to quickly have a portal made available in order to qualify the applicants as well as to process the applications.
Problem Statement
This was going to be a joint effort between WSIB and the Ontario Government. Each agency had their respective design system so the new portal had to leverage both systems. Also time was of essence. We had a hard deadline of the product needing to go public in 30 days!
Creative Process
The architecture team quickly put together a user flow, high level application logic and rough draft of the wireframes using an app called Flowchart.
The product design team then took this information and we created low-fidelity wireframes for internal and client approval. These wires also formed the basis for the content writers to start writing the application content. Using Figma we were able to quickly convert these low fidelity wires into high-fidelity mock ups.
Using Figma as our collaboration tool we were able to create the final high-resolution designs in record time (2 weeks) and into production for a delivery within 30 days.
